  • Power Control Centers are used for distribution and control ofvarious power source used in the industry. These power controlcenters control, monitor & continuously provide supply toconnected loads through breakers. If anything goes wrong withthe source or load, these PCCs comprising breakers cut downsupply and the rest of the system stays healthy. Normally PowerControl Centers are installed near the power source hence faultlevel is high. It is designed to suit the fault level of 50KA or 65 KAfor 1 sec. Busbar systems in Power Control Centers are designedto suit the fault level as well as temperature rise to 40°c aboveambient. Ample space is provided for cable termination. Variousprotections viz short circuit, overload, earth fault, under voltageetc. are provided to protect source and equipment.

    The primary electricity load in any industry arises from low and high voltagemotors. These motors being an integral part of any operation must be kept healthythroughout their lifetime. The Motor Control Centre takes care of controlling,monitoring & recording of the power supplied to motorsMCCs are suitable for operation of motors ranging from 0.5 HP to 500 HPcapacities. They can handle various types of starting methods including Directonline (DOL), Star-Delta, autotransformer, Soft starter etc. They can also beoperated locally or remotely using PCC(Power Control Center) and DCS(Distributed Control Center) systems. Enhanced thermal management in theMMCs is ensured for higher motor power ratings with the help of increased airventilation. The component layout is made so as to facilitate the ease of operationand maintenance.

    Power Distribution Panel is a component of an electricity supply system thatdivides an electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits while providing aprotective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit in a common enclosure. Sinceit is located downstream, the fault level is normally lower, which is in the rangeof 20 to 35 KA. Normally they are designed to carry currents up to 800 A. Theadvantage of using PDAs is to clear fault locally, without affecting theupstream switchgear.

    Air Circuit Breaker Panels are normally used for the protection of power source andelectrical equipment situated on the downstream. They isolate and protect the sourcefrom short circuit, overload, earth fault, under-voltage, etc.

  • HT Panels are used for the operation of potential transformers, capacitors and motors.They house HT Circuit Breakers, relays & metering that is used to receive 11KV/33KVsupply (from one or more source) and distribute the power through its outgoingfeeders. The outgoing feeder may be one or more it depends on the load.

    Main functions of HT panels

  • To make & break HT supply (or switch on or switch off supply),
  • To receive & distribute HT supply,
  • To provide protection against faults,
  • To provide metering to monitor various parameters.


  • Automatic Power Factor Control Panel is designed to maintain the power factor of the plantto unity. To maintain the power factor of unity means to achieve demand in KVA on thelower side. Power factor is maintained to set the value using APFC relay in auto modewhereas in case of failure of APFC relay pushbuttons are used. Auto, as well as the manualmode, is provided for power factor control. Various types of capacitors are used dependingon load conditions. Typically MPP, APP or mix dielectric types of capacitors are used. In caseof non-linear loads like VFD, UPS thyristor switching, suitable reactors are used along withcapacitors to filter harmonics.

    A feeder pillar is a cabinet used to house electrical equipment. Feederpillars act as a central circuit that controls and distributes electricity tooutgoing circuits downstream to the feeder pillar. This setup provides eachcircuit protection, along with the capacity to be easily controlled.A feeder pillar-box protects personnel from coming into contact with livewires, as well as protecting wires from dust and dampness.
